Half Cranked is the cruisier cousin of BentSpoke’s hugely popular Crankshaft IPA. The Canberra brewery has dialled back the strength while keeping the same big, hop-forward attitude that put Crankshaft on the map.
Expect bold tropical fruit and citrus aromatics on the nose, with juicy mango, passionfruit and orange peel running through the palate. A soft malt backbone provides just enough structure before the hops carry the beer to a clean, resinous finish.
It’s a sessionable mid-strength IPA built for long afternoons, with all the character of a full-flavoured IPA at a more relaxed pace.
