Variety: Riesling
Founder Stephen Bitterolf of Vom Boden once consumed a glass of 2004 Emrich-Schonleber Riesling GG which he felt may have inspired the beginning of his business. If that doesn’t convey the influence of these wines, there are other ways. They land in the same realm as Donnhoff and the Keller wines while remaining distinctly their own. The Schonleber wines are firm in their philosophy: “the wines offer true drinking pleasure, they’re honest, authentic, and unembellished, and lastly, a goal to produce wine with distinctive personalities.” The family forms a common core of thoughtfulness around the quality of the wine as each member participates in their own way. They aim to exceed the high expectations of their wines with each vintage while maintaining precision in the vineyard.
