A single-vineyard Saumur from cult Loire producer Romain Guiberteau. ‘Les Chapaudaises’ is a parcel of Cabernet Franc on clay-limestone near Le Puy-Notre-Dame, and it gives one of his more open, perfumed and fruit-forward reds — a little more approachable young than the firmer Les Arboises. Farmed organically and made with native yeasts and minimal intervention, it carries the chalky tension and purity that make Guiberteau a reference for serious Saumur Cabernet Franc. Hard to find and worth the chase, whether you drink it now or hold it.
