La Marotte ‘Resiste’ L’Hérault 2023

Hailing from the village of Clairac in the Hérault department of Occitanie (Southern France), not far from Axel Prüfer in the Orb Valley, La Marotte is the 4-hectare-large brainchild of Julie Thelen and Xavier Auboux. This cuvée, Résiste, is made from a blend of Carignan and Cinsault – all drawn from vines planted over half a century ago – which then undergoes carbonic maceration for about a week to maintain a fresh and lively profile. The finished product is bright with plenty of red fruit, which serves to highlight the depth and complexity developed by the blend.
