Variety: Nebbiolo
La Prevostura holds 5 hectares on the famed Lessona hillside of the same name. The soil is comprised of ancient marine sands that allow the Nebbiolo, Vespolina and Croatina to express themselves fully. Brothers Marco and Davide Bellini acquired the land in 2001 and planted the aforementioned grapes on the hillside. The magic began when they hired on Cristiano Garella, a local wine expert and winemaker to craft the styles. Now producing up to 10,000 bottles a year, La Prevostura has become synonymous with the hillside it shares a name with.
These vines are the highest elevation planted of La Prevostura’s vineyards. They are fermented and macerated for 30 days in stainless steel tanks. It then undergoes malolactic fermentation in oak. It is then aged 22 months in barriques and tonneaux and finally finished after another 11 months in bottle.
