Commemorating the Clipper 2013-14 Round the World Yacht Race, because of course Old Pulteney was a sponsor (they just can’t get enough of everything maritime), the Highlands distillery have released a special edition single malt. It has been matured in a mix of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry cask whisky, which has been bottled without chill-filtration or artificial colours.
Old Pulteney Clipper Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes
Nose: Creamy with vanilla and cocoa. Apple pie and fruit cake.
Palate: More fruit cake, with plenty of crystallised orange peels in the mix. Runny honey. Sea breeze.
Finish: A long finish, the coastal air lasting.

Founded in 1826 by James Henderson at the height of Wick’s celebrated herring boom, the Pulteney Distillery is one of the most northerly Scotch whisky distilleries on the Britis ainland.
