Variety: Pinot Noir, Gamay
Although three generations of Robert Chevillon’s family had been involved in the Burgundy wine industry before the Domaine was established, today the winery bears Robert’s name. His sons, Bertrand and Denis, are the 5th generation. Although Robert formally retired in 2003, he remains an active presence in the winery.
Bourgogne Passetoutgrain is another Burgundy appellation with loose restrictions; it includes the grape variety Gamay blended with Pinot Noir. This is a curveball to what you’d expect from the region, but makes for delicious appealing wine meant to be consumed young. Passetoutgrain means “to throw it all in.”
