A foot-trodden, fantastical red ideal for large feasts and forward thinking tête-à-têtes. Silvia Prieto and Alberto Nanclares work five hectares of vines (predominantly albariño), on the coast of Galicia. Their goal is to produce classic and age-worthy albariños that reflect the unique characteristics of the grape, with little intervention in the cellar. From a combination of five different organic plots of terpenoid-laden mencia & full-bodied caino, grown in the villages of Barro, Cambados and Vilanova along the Atlantic coast. 21 days on skins and aging on lees for 11 months allows for a true showcase of the mighty aromas & superbly-wound tannins this pair is capable of producing. Raspberry marmalade, black liquorice, gravel stuck in-between your sock and your shoe, underripe strawberry, ripe gourds, cherry pit, salt n’ peppa & crushed thyme. Enjoy with anything doused in a mushroom sauce.
